Bunk House: |
Astronomers may be sleeping anytime. |
Bunk House: |
Has the single female bunk area. Astronomers may be sleeping anytime. |
Family or Large Groups: |
Reserved for large families of 4+, or young families only. Keep noise to a minimum during the night for the children. There are no early noise restrictions here, be aware of this if camping nearby. |
Any photo taken at or since the last Astrofest. 3 entries per person. |
Amateur Telescope |
Multiple entrees are allowed, but previous winners are not allowed to enter for the same item again. Judging is based on Materials used, Workmanship, Innovation and Usability. Categories are: Best Equatorial Telescope, Best Dobsonian, Best Telescope Accessory (must be attached to a Telescope) and Best Observing Aid. |
Bunk Height |
Lower bunks are reserved for people medically unable to climb to the top bunk. |
Day Pass |
A 'day' pass charge applies to anyone visiting the camp (even if you drive home later that night). The charge covers the use of the facility and insurance. The charge is less than that for people staying overnight. It also provides the organisers with an accurate list for fire safety. |
Camping |
Camping is a very popular option, the lower ground area is available with limited power. It is quieter and has a moderate walk up to the main observing fields, toilets and showers. |
Fund Raising Information |
This year we are looking into our own bottle of Cloudy Nights Port. We still have QLD Astrofest Key Rings and Cloth patches for $5 each and a few caps $25 each. |
